Part Three
Part Three - Register Your Website
Now that you have your info product in place and your set of keywords, it is time to register your website.
There are two ways of doing it. The freeway and the highway. Both has its pros and cons. But for a long-term benefit, obviously I would recommend the highway. Anyway, I will still tell you both ways.
- The FreeWay
1. Register a free blog at Blogger.com
2. Register a free blog at Wordpress.com
3. Create free pages at Googlepages.
4. Create a free lens at Squidoo.com
5. Create a free website at tripod.com
While naming your pages, you would want to include part of your keyword into your name. For example, DayCare-Business.wordpress.com
All of the 5 ways suggested above are of course, Free! However, there are limitations when using them. You can’t really manipulate much, although it is still easy to use. Out of the 5 above, I highly recommend using Wordpress blog for your website.
- The Highway
1. Register a domain name at GoDaddy.com (Try to go for .com domains first, followed by .net then .info)
2. Sign up for a web hosting plan at Hostgator.
The domain name should cost you about $8 per year, while the hosting package may cost you a minimum of $6.95 per month. This is probably the most important investment that you should make if you are considering a career in the Affiliate Marketing business.
- Set Up Your Squeeze Page
Next, once you have your website and hosting ready, you need to set up a squeeze page. A squeeze page or a landing page can be the index page of your website. This squeeze page allows you to capture leads via email.
You need to offer them something of value and ask them to opt-in to your list. A fair example is the one on this home page.
You can either create a short mini-course on the product you are selling or create a newsletter that can be send twice a week. It’s all up to you.
One of the better autoresponders that I would recommend is Aweber.com.
An autoresponder service like Aweber lets you create unlimited follow-up messages to your list. It also allows a double opt-in system so that you will never be accused of spam.
Make sure you test drive your opt-in forms first before going live.
At this point of time, I realise that the information that is provided here can be too basic and a bit overwhelming for newbies. I am afraid that I have to keep it that way as this is suppose to be a crash course.
However, if you have any burning questions that you want to ask, feel free to drop me an email at matt@monster-affiliate.com. I will try my best to answer your questions within 2 working days.
There is also a step-by-step online course that I find useful if you need to go a little slower. The online course called The Profit Lance System teaches the variety of skills needed to make money online. This is a solid no-hype product, with real value for money and provides real and practical know how.
It covers the basics of affiliate marketing, creating information products, making money from content, SEO basics and strategies, comprehensive traffic generation techniques, a full copywriting course, and much more.
It also has a unique online goal and task manager that lets you plan all your activitites. With lots of videos and other teaching resources, this has got to be the best product for people looking to earn from the Internet.
Currently, there is a special offer with a number of bonuses including a whole network of affiliate websites, already set up and hosted for you, a complete Adsense business, and a monthly newsletter. This is a super product and should not be missed.
