Part Five
Part 5 - Bringing Traffic to Your Website
Traffic is the lifeline of any website intended for profits. Well, it is more of highly targeted traffic visitors. Not just any random visitors.
There are a lot of ways to generate targeted traffic to your site. This is one of the marketing component of promoting your website. Some are free, and some are not.
Just a gentle reminder: Your success depends highly on you capability to bring in highly targeted traffic to your website.
Now, let’s go through some of them
- Search Engine Submission - You need to submit your site to major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN so that you can get indexed faster.
- Directory Submission - Directories are authority sites that list websites in various categories. You can do a google search on ’search engine friendly directories’ and submit manually to them. Alternatively, there is a software that allows you to ’semi-auto’ your submission process.
- Blog Directory Submission - If your website is on a blog platform, you can register your site at www.blogskinny.com and get listed on various blog directories.
- Ping Your Blog! - Ping your blog at pingoat.com or pingomatic.com. Either one will be suffice.
- Classified Ads - Post free classified ads at Craigslist.com or paid ads at Usfreeads.com
- Forum Signatures - Participate in forums related to your niche and post relevant replies to existing threads. Make sure that your signature file contains a link back to your website.
- Press Release - Writing press release has become a prominent way to drive targeted web site traffic. In fact, if you are not writing press release you are missing the best way to boost targeted web site traffic to your website. Here are the best press release websites that I have used successfully for free: PR Web, PR, PR Leap, Click Press.
- Digg It! - Submit a ’story’ to Digg.com. A good way to get quality backlinks. But be careful not to spam it or you will get banned easily.
- Stumble Upon! - Another way to get a horde of visitors, though not targeted ones. Go to stumbleupon.com and list your own website there.
- Pay-Per-Click Ads - This is by far the BEST way to get highly targeted traffic to your website. But the most expensive one! Tread carefully and you will skyrocket your profits, make the wrong turn and you will sink faster than you can think. Believe me, I have lost at least 2 grand ‘playing’ with the basics of PPC, especially Google Adwords.
- In fact there are a lot of informative guides dedicated to teaching the proper techniques of using Google Adwords correctly. Some of these include Google Cash 3rd Edition, Adwords Miracle, Beating Adwords and a lot others. These are the top 3 that I would strongly recommend if you are interested in entering the PPC arena.
- You can also sign up for a Free Adwords account by clicking on the banner on the right. Read up on the tips and tricks on their Help section. Sometimes, it pays to read the rules of the game.
